Job scamming in Johannesburg

As many people are looking for jobs, scammers are increasing at an alarming rate and are out and about. They post appealing jobs on the common job websites such as OLX, jobvine and jobmail.
The easiest way to find the job you looking for is using tolajob.com. the main people who scam people are from power place building. Address 261 Oak Avenue Ferndale, randburg (corner oak and republic, second building from space centre). The usually change the company name when they email you claiming they are KD Marketing, De Souza Direct, C.D.L Marketing, Ashleigh Marketing or Growthpoint. These people even email you without applying saying they selected your resume from one of the online applications. They then invite you for a pre-screening interview.

Asset consulting physical address is: suite 204 Klamson Towers, 151 Commissioner Street opposite Carlton Centre Johannesburg CBD. These people try being convenient by telling you to come between 08:am-2pm. Now they seem legit… until they tell you they will conduct reference and criminal checks on all applicants. They explain that its compulsory and how they need to be sure for their client’s sake. In capital letters, they say “IMPORTANTLY: note that a once-off of R100 will be required to cover candidate background check and this should be paid on the day of your interview. RED FLAG ALERT. You shouldn’t be paying any fee during an interview. Their verification company’s (Lexis Nexis or I-Check Solutions) which are legit company’s (as far as I know) asset consulting claim to be an agency but honestly speaking no agency asks for money before they place you. Agencies usually deduct money from your salary. I’m not sure about A company called GGF marketing will sms you telling you your application was received. I’m just including them because I believe potential employers will never sms you. Their address is: 301 Apollo Building, corner of church & Du Toit Street, Pretoria Central. They ask you to dress formally, preferably black and bring a pen.
My final words are please research the addresses, some of them might be tricky, and not pop up. When you are unemployed I believe every penny count. Don’t travel to places to find out those people emailed you selling candy-coated dreams. Potential employers will never sms you, ask you to bring money to an interview for e.g. training, uniform, and background checks.
